The Nairobi Neurophysiology Service is responsible for providing electro-diagnostic services to patients with neurological complaints and diseases affecting the nervous system.  Neurodiagnostic tests aid in the diagnosis, evaluation and monitoring of the neurological disease processes, the Nairobi Neurophysiology Services Centre is one of the main referral centers for Neurodiagnostic cases in Nairobi and its environments. 

The Centre also provides Intra-operative neuromonitoring services (IONM) in Nairobi and many centers outside Nairobi within the country.  Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring helps assess the integrity of neural structures and level consciousness during high risk surgical procedures. It includes both continuous monitoring of neural tissue as well as the localization of vital neural structures. The goal of IONM is to identify intraoperative neural insults that allow early intervention to eliminate or to significantly minimize irreversible damage to the neurological structure and prevent a postoperative neurologic deficit.
